The 1st World Seabird Conference was held in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada from September 7-11, 2010.

The legacy of this inaugural conference will live on in many ways. There will be several sympiosia published in the scientific leterature, we may create a World Seabird Union and/or a second World Seabird Conference, and opportunities to share data at the global level already exist as a result of this first conference at Seabirds.net.

The world is shared by seabirds. We hope that by sharing our knowledge and ideas, we will better ensure their worldwide conservation in the coming decades.
